Mermaid Medusa - SMITE

This is another piece that I did for the video game SMITE. This is one of my favorite concepts that I got to work on. I'm especially happy with the differentiated textures in the final render. Unfortunately the concept did not survive production, and the final model is vastly different in the game. Upside, I can finally upload this one to my portfolio! Enjoy.

Tightened up the lines once more then finished the render.

After getting feedback I changed the bow and removed a lot of unnecessary costume elements. I finalized the color scheme as well.

After frustrating myself with digital sketches I sat down and banged this out on paper. Sometimes it's really liberating to go back to traditional media.

The back sketch and the face beneath the mask. The quiver is perhaps the only part of my concept that made it into the game.
