Volcanic Agni

This is a concept piece that I did for Hi-Rez Studios for their game SMITE. They needed a redesign of an old character skin that wasn't aging very well. I was asked to give it an update! As you can see, it took a while to get some of the elements right. The fabulous Brian Wells had to be called in to help me stop drawing so many silly back designs. Cheers, Brian!

The skin was recently released in the game, so be sure to go to SmiteGame.com and check it out!

The Final Render!

The Final Render!

Finally settled on a design once Brian helped me figure out the back. I was obviously overthinking the problem! Now on to the render!

Another wave of back sketches. I also added seams to the arms and legs to help break up the shapes.

The hard part is refining the design. The big challenge here was figuring out what the back would look like. Fortunately my art director is very patient with me!

My favorite part, idea generation! I get to let my imagination go wild! I was asked to combine 1 and 3 together to make something similar like the original design.
